Riva Corsaro Super 102' ( 30.24m registered 23.97m ) - Immediatly available for the season.

The Riva story is all about the unique, inimitable savoir-faire that is the secret of its winning beauty and style today and has always been from the very beginning.

Riva 102’ Corsaro Super, contemporary, sporty and with spaces created to feel in seamless contact with the sea.

Much more than just a restyling, the 30-metre fly range, from the Sarnico-based company, impresses with its ability to reinterpret and update the concept of beauty.

What’s different? «Some simple stylistic features, which have led to a brand-new boat». Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, otherwise known as Officina Italiana Design, sum it up with those words

The 102’ Super comes five years after the Corsaro 100, it’s slightly longer (although only by 34 cm) and has the same hull and same design philosophy as its predecessor because, as emphasised by the two designers: «It wants to maintain its rigorousness, sportiness, linearity and elegance». At the same time, the new Corsaro succeeds in being something completely innovative. How is that possible?

«By starting work from the stern. Meeting today’s needs, the yacht now also features a platform that optimises onboard space while maintaining its sinuous lines, creating a liveable area in addition to the outdoor spaces. This architectural element improves the overall effect and the lines of the boat. Its profile appears more graceful and even sleek. In addition, the boat has a wonderful and useful pied dans l’eau platform».

And while a direct relationship with the sea and easy access to the water are essential features for today’s yacht owners, so is the desire for total “fusion” between inside and outside

The real and perceived barriers between the inside of the boat and the seascape have to disappear. «We wanted to give more light to the owner’s cabin, without interfering with the boat’s aesthetics. We, therefore, lowered the hull glazing level by 40 cm in the bow. The result is that the windows have a “knife” shape, adding a new stylistic feature to the exterior design and making it stand out». A feature that, as the two designers from the Bergamo-based studio also recall: «It contributes to the slenderness of the boat which, it should be emphasised, has a wide body, about a type of vessel that is not always so streamlined and sporty».

And this is another central aspect of the design. Exploiting the entire width of the hull, making as much of the internal volumes as possible available to the owners and their guests is another central feature of designs from this period. In the 24/30 metre range in particular, at the limits of EC-type approval, the yards are battling it out. The risk of leaving beauty on the field is always lurking. Fine work is needed: «On the fly, the hard top design has been completely darkened in comparison to the 100’ Corsair: it is as if we had inserted a brushstroke of dark colour on the architectural element that joins the handrail, without changing its shape. This figurative result is all about visual perception, creating a smoother image and refreshing the line of the boat».

To maintain stylistic coherence, the restyling work also involved the interiors, working hard on the details, without repeating styles and trends that are outdated and have already been seen, but trying to introduce new suggestions and optimising spaces.

There are two layouts available for the central lounge, with the possibility of inverting the positioning of the living and dining areas: in the standard version, the latter features a table of eight oriented towards the keel in front of the cockpit, while the sofa and social area are amidships; the second layout proposes an L-shaped sofa towards the stern, while the dining area, with the table, turned towards the beam, is amidships. In both configurations, the living and dining areas are visually separated by an optical effect created by an elegant polished marble frame, available in either white or black, which rises the walls. On request, the marble can also be inserted in the floor and run perpendicularly across the lounge to create an even bolder effect.

On the new Riva 102’ Corsaro Super the owner can choose to install a pair of MTU engines with 2,435 horsepower each, for an expected maximum speed of 26 knots and a cruising speed of 23, or two MTUs with 2,638 horsepower to reach a maximum speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 24. Comfort is ensured not only by the tried and tested nautical qualities of Riva hulls, but also by the aid of the latest generation of electromechanics: Hydrotab trim tab interceptors, to guarantee maximum ease of use and optimised consumption, Sleipner Vector Fins, to minimise roll at anchor and when sailing, and two Seakeeper NG9 gyroscopic stabilisers can also be installed on request.

Layout

On the port side of the main lounge is the entrance to the spacious and elegant master suite, which runs full-beam in the bow area. The new windows are “knife”-shaped, serving the dual purpose of allowing more light to enter the interior and adding a new stylistic feature to the exterior design of the boat.

The lower deck layout comprises three double VIP cabins and a twin guest cabin, each with its en-suite bathroom.

The raised pilot’s station is on the upper deck and can be accessed either from outside, from the flybridge, or from inside the yacht, from the main deck, via a staircase located near the galley area

The stern has been completely redesigned on the new 102’ Super and now features a spectacular beach area flush with the water. This area has also been left clear of the Williams 445 tender, which is housed, along with a jet ski, in the garage compartment under the sundeck.
