Meet “Copper” — The Most Capable "Off-Grid"  75' Hatteras CMY Ever Offered  For Sale...

This isn’t your typical Hatteras meant to spend her days tied up at the marina, polished but idle. Copper is in a league of her own—a 75' Hatteras CMY transformed into a true expedition-capable yacht, purpose-built for serious off-grid and offshore cruising and long-range independence. If you’re looking for a floating waterfront condo, look elsewhere.  There are plenty of lesser 75's currently on the market... But if you’re ready to push beyond the horizon, and explore the world without constantly visiting a fuel dock, or with no shore power in sight, Copper is a must-see.

Quite simply, she is the most extensively upgraded and refit Hatteras 75 ever put on the market.

Her systems have been purposefully engineered by an experienced owner with three mission objectives in mind: safety, redundancy, and freedom. Freedom from the marina. Freedom from unnecessary diesel burn. Freedom to anchor in remote waters for months, limited only by how much food you can carry.

This is an expedition yacht for the impatient—the kind of vessel that doesn’t wait for perfect conditions or a marina reservation, whose range is extraordinary at or below 1000 RPMs, but when needed, she can run like Hell to take advantage of a tight weather window. She’s turn-key, rugged, and ready to run deep into Carribean waters tomorrow.

Unmatched Mechanical Upgrades

Copper underwent top-to-bottom mechanical and system overhauls and upgrades to ensure long-term reliability and redundancy. Both engines received full 1,000-hour services in Summer 2024, including complete turbo rebuilds, new raw water pumps, fresh heat exchangers, and powder-coated seawater piping—done right by Coral Reef Diesel and backed by certified CAT expertise.

Dual 22kW Phasor generators (new in late 2023) ensure ample onboard power, with new fuel lines and under 300 hours on one, and 100 hours on the other... A new hydraulic pump and PTO ensure the 30HP bow thruster is as reliable as ever.

Designed to Live Off the Hook

This isn’t just a comfortable cruiser—it’s a self-sustaining power system wrapped in fiberglass. Copper features a full 48V lithium battery bank powered by two Victron 20kW inverters and twelve 300Ah lithium phosphate batteries. Between solar, alternator charging, and minimal generator runtime, she’s been proven to hold station at anchor for months—running air conditioning, refrigeration, and all critical systems on just 2–3 hours of genset time daily.

Six 425-watt solar panels, mounted on a custom frame by a NASA welder, are engineered to withstand hurricane-force winds—and they’ve done so, twice. This solar array, combined with a 48V 100-amp alternator on the port engine, allows her to make passage without burning a drop of diesel for power generation. She’ll arrive at anchor with full battery banks and zero compromises.

Elegance Meets Endurance

While Copper is all business under the surface, her interior finish is every bit as refined and refreshed as one could want. Newly laid NautikFlor teak-look flooring spans the salon, pilothouse, and staterooms—commercial-grade, waterproof, and UV-resistant. New vinyl paneling, updated carpet in the master, and fresh upholstery throughout breathe new life into her timeless layout. A custom bookshelf with a hidden actuator-mounted TV in the salon is a nod to thoughtful design.

New AC units in the master, VIP, and pilothouse keep comfort high in every climate, and a fully rebuilt water maker cranks out 60 gallons per hour with reliability proven throughout the Bahamas.

Seaworthy Systems, Top to Bottom

  • Digital NAIAD stabilizers, rebuilt and recalibrated (2023)
  • SPOT ZERO filtration system for spot-free rinses and pure water
  • Fully updated electronics: new Garmin VHF units, AIS, and digital VHF antennas
  • New 6-person Superior Life-Saving raft and EPIRB (2022)
  • Full LED dimmable lighting throughout (2024)
  • New outlets, new engine room blowers, new salon leather sofa, new bimini
  • Starlink internet system for constant, high-speed connectivity offshore

And the list goes on…

Built to Roam, Not Just Float

Copper isn't a just a showpiece. She's a true long-range liveaboard platform—designed, tested, and equipped for serious voyaging. If you’re the kind of buyer who dreams of anchoring in remote atolls, cruising the backwaters of the Bahamas, or venturing far beyond where cell towers reach (thanks to her onboard Starlink satellite receiver), Copper stands in a class of her own.

She’s not a marina queen—she’s a blue water warrior. Turn-key, overbuilt, and truly underpriced for what she offers.

Serious inquiries only.
