Vessel Walk Through

When Olivier Racoupeau designed The Saona 47, she ushered in a new generation of luxury sailing catamarans. The first thing you’ll notice is the modern profile enhanced by her “Reverse-Plumb” bow along with the “Reverse-Sheer” lines of her decks.

This unique combination gives the Saona 47 a more aggressive yet elegant aesthetic that continues throughout the boat. This profile also contributes to her better sailing performance by increasing her waterline and reducing the aerodynamic drag.

This reverse-sheer also helps increase the interior volume of the hulls by slowly increasing the freeboard until the middle of the hulls. This allows the builder to raise the larger parts of the cabinetry above the waterline without decreasing headroom.

By adopting this more modern design approach, they were able to lower the Waterline Length to beam ratio while increasing the interior volume in the process. This is one of the primary definers of a sailing catamaran’s performance.

Another feature the Sayona improved upon is the Roof-Top Lounge area. This generation of designs is maximizing the use of the space. You’ll find this to be one of the best features on board.

Cockpit

The first thing you’ll notice when stepping aboard “Mabuhi” is the generous space in the cockpit provided by her wide beam of 25’ 4”. The custom Synthetic Teak gives the entire aft section of the boat a real “Yacht” aesthetic. There is a HUGE solid teak cockpit table and bench seating around it along with a great bench across the entire aft section. There is also a fantastic lounge to starboard. This provides ample seating for all of your family, guests, and friends.

An upgrade removable 12v deep freezer was installed in the center bench making her a true blue-water long-range capable cruiser. an additional 12v outlet added outside bench to add an additional freezer if needed.

To starboard aft is a stainless steel grill and a custom sink. To port, a custom outdoor “Rain” shower system was plumbed and installed to be able to rinse after swimming or diving in the water, this is not an available option at the factory. This provides a luxury resort amenity that is a huge improvement over the stock handheld cockpit sprayer, which is also available to use.

Salon

The enormous sliding glass doors almost disappear when open creating one huge living space combining both the cockpit and salon seamlessly together.

As you enter the salon, you gain a sense of the scale of the space. By stepping through the combined Salon/Galley’s aft section which includes the upgrade Breville convection microwave and upgraded freezer to starboard to see the large L-Shaped seating that wraps the starboard forward section of the salon with plush seating. The upgraded electric table that converts from a coffee table into a dining table and daybed - additional berth.

To port, the seating continues across the front of the salon. A modern Nav-Station/ command center is to port an upgraded additional VHF/AIS/Garmin monitor at the Nav Station to allow navigation from inside. This allows for a forward-facing workstation, or you can also use it as part of the same seating as the rest of the salon.

The entire salon is bathed in natural light. This is due to the almost 360-degree panoramic windows and the two large skylights in the roof. This provides fantastic visibility while underway including the ability to see the sails.

The custom curtains, sunshade, and honeycomb shade provide warmth to the decor, complete privacy, and significantly reduces the heat when exposed to direct sunlight.

To aft and starboard is a Large Flat Screen LED TV on an upgraded swiveling mount which can swivel 180 degrees for guests in the cockpit to enjoy the TV. The entertainment system was upgraded to a Bose Home Theater Surround system.

Updated the LED accent lights with their separate controls.

Galley

The galley is found just as you enter the salon from the cockpit. To port is an L-shaped galley with an island with additional electrical and USA outlets. There is ample countertop space and cabinet space throughout. There is a large 3 burner gas cooktop to port with an opening hatch above for ventilation. Facing aft, you’ll see the glass sliding half door that opens the galley into a bar for the cockpit. The large stainless, double basin dink faces aft.
