This 65' Custom Sport Fisherman was built in 2000 by Jim Smith with a deep-vee design by Donald Blount and was purchased by her current owner at the end of 2014. After an extensive survey, all findings were corrected and True Grit underwent a comprehensive refit throughout in 2015/2016. As a result, she is in immaculate better-than-new condition mechanically, structurally, and cosmetically. Totally updated inside and outside. In addition, she had an air-conditioned mezzanine added in the cockpit and a Palm Beach Tuna Tower added. The current owner always maintains True Grit in perfect, turn-key condition.

Boarding –over the custom teak covering boards – into the large, teak-decked cockpit, the proper layout is apparent: full-sized “Release Trillion” fighting chair with rocket launcher, augmented by in-deck live wells; large-sized, refrigerated in-deck fish box w/ ice chipper in attached compartment; concealed storage for gaffs; transom door; fresh and saltwater wash-downs; port and starboard electric-reel connections; shore power connections. The cockpit is comfortably viewed from the air-conditioned mezzanine. Tackle center is beneath mezzanine seating. There is also a refrigerated drink and bait storage. Two steps up from cockpit, the interior is accessed via a custom, J.R. Beers, electric sliding door or the bridge is accessed up a ladder on starboard.
Very large bridge area has: centered (new in 2016) “Palm Beach” varnished-teak helm with single lever controls(bow thruster controls incorporated for ease maneuvering); fronted by electronics consoles (3-17” Garmin monitors). Helm is serviced by 2-custom “Release Trillion” helm chairs with excellent site lines of the cockpit and forward for running. Overheard are two “built-in” Miya-Epoch” teaser reels. Comfortable seating is along the starboard side(rod-storage beneath) and forward and port of the helm (again with concealed storage), In the brow there is storage for life raft and supplies. Area is serviced by a custom refrigerated drink box.
From flybridge up ladders on port and stbd of the custom tower (New 2016) from Palm Beach Towers to the upper helm. Features engine controls, steering, Datamarine depth, leaning rail and a custom hardtop.
The interior was custom refitted in 2015/2016 including joiner work refinished, new countertops, new furnishings, new soft goods. The large, comfortable salon has cherry joiner-work and quartzite countertops. There is a spacious L-shaped leather sofa on port (rod storage beneath) facing the concealed entertainment center on starboard. The fully-outfitted galley is forward on port with a 6-person U-shaped, leather dinette on the starboard (storage beneath). The dinette table is custom from "Release Marine". The L-shaped galley bar is fronted by (2) custom "Release Marine" pivoting bar stools with Blue Marlin inserts. *Note that the L-shaped sofa and the dinette are all custom-matched saddle-brown leather. The engine room is well-thought and designed with easy access for maintenance and service. Finished in Imron and well lit with LED, it is maintained to the same high standards as the overall boat. Arranged in three areas: the forward area incorporates compressors and refrigeration units; middle area holds the twin 1800hp MTU main engines; aft area is the twin 25kw Northern Lights generators, 1200gpd Sea Recovery water maker, Eskimo ice maker, fuel polisher, and 2-50amp ISO boosters (new 2016).
