Andrew’s customer just took delivery of a nearly-new Viking 68 at our Anna Maria location. The boat had just left our customer support (service) team and was ready to move permanently to Puerto Rico. The hitch was the boat needed to be in PR in 12 days, and the owner, an attorney, also needed to be at a trial in federal court in 11 days. What normally would be at least a two-week trip — the west coast of Florida to Puerto Rico — needed to happen fast!
Without hesitation, Andrew stepped up to the plate and offered to guide his client on an unforgettable journey back home, spanning across Marathon, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, the Dominican Republic, and culminating in Puerto Rico.
The group had one day to provision the boat for the 1,400-mile journey and only had time to make one marina reservation, which was in Marathon. Even with only one reservation, they were at a slip every night!
“I wouldn’t have attempted this trip in anything but a Viking Yacht,” explains Andrew. “Yes, there are other boat brands that can make the trip, but not at the speed we did it. The Viking 68 holds enough fuel, has incredible performance, and truly we were self-reliant if needed.”
