IBEX, The International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition, has announced the winners of the 2021 IBEX Innovation Awards at their 30th-anniversary conference event. Boating Writers International judges the awards program managed by the NMMA. Among several entries submitted by marine trade businesses, eleven award winners and three honorable mentions won awards for their new, innovative products.
“This year’s Innovation Awards program saw an incredible collection of entries,” said Anne Dunbar, IBEX Show Director. “The judges from Boating Writers International had their work cut out for them to select winners to join the ranks of hundreds of marine manufacturers who have been recognized through the history of the program and receive the beautiful crystal awards.”
The awards ceremony took place during the annual Industry Breakfast held at the JW Marriott in Tampa, Florida. In the category for OEM Electronics, Volo Penta took home the trophy for its unprecedented Assisted Docking System. As seen to the left, our in-stock Cruisers 50 Cantius proudly displays the Volvo Penta Assisted Docking System, currently docked at the IBEX exhibition and conference. “Volvo’s Assisted Docking lets the skipper take a breath in stressful situations while giving them pinpoint control of the vessel,” said judge Ben Stein. Congratulations to Volvo for earning the respected IBEX award, recognized throughout the industry.
Volvo Penta’s Assisted Docking system combines automation and control, providing effortless docking for boaters at all levels, right at your fingertips. The next generation of marine automation removes the dynamic elements of wind and current, giving boaters the control to safely and intelligibly navigate their boat in tight spaces with higher precision. With Volvo Penta’s Assisted Docking, difficult becomes easy, risky becomes safe, and stressful becomes fun. Learn more below.
