Valhalla V-28 Bay: First Look at Hull No. 1
The air is buzzing with excitement as Hull No. 1 of the highly anticipated V-28 Bay emerges from its mold at Viking Mullica, revealing its cutting-edge patented double-stepped running surface that guarantees exceptional performance on the water and sleek two-tone hull. With its crisp white sides and eye-catching Nardo Grey bottom, this beauty is ready to make some serious waves.
Valhalla’s Latest Additions – V-28 Bay & V-29 Hybrid
Joining Valhalla Boatworks‘ impressive fleet of V Series center consoles, the V-28 Bay and V-29 Hybrid are about to revolutionize the boating world. These latest additions showcase the same design traits that have made Valhalla a trailblazer in the industry – an aggressive forward deadrise, double strakes, and chines. And of course, they are built with unrivaled quality, fit, and finish.
The Production Journey – V-28 Bay
The production journey begins in Viking Mullica’s fiberglass department, aptly named Viglass. Talented boatbuilders expertly use a special methacrylate adhesive and fiberglass tabbing to meticulously install a resin-infused structural stringer grid. This innovative grid not only reduces weight but also enhances stiffness and strength. In fact, it’s so strong that it’s used to lift the hull from the mold using overhead electric hoists.
Once lifted, the hull elegantly glides forward with the help of cranes and is carefully placed onto dollies. The skilled shipwrights at Viglass then trim the sheer flange, diligently install a 130-gallon fuel tank, and apply Awlgrip to the bilges, among other meticulous preparations. Only then does the hull make its way to the mechanical build stage, where it truly comes alive.
