Our team‘s support is vital during tournament season, in which they will be prepping for pre-fishing and greeting customers and guests visiting from around the globe. If you have not had the chance to meet our exceptional Costa Rica yachting professionals, we wanted to highlight the individuals who live and breathe the Costa Rican lifestyle.
Tony Carrizosa – Yacht Broker with Galati Yacht Sales
First off, Tony Carrizosa — Licensed Captain and Sales professional, 2021 InTheBite International Division Captain of the Year, and Captain for TEAM GALATI. Growing up, Tony had a fond love for fishing and first started working on boats right out of high school as a charter boat deck hand and quickly transitioned to traveling on private vessels. He was fortunate to be part of tournament-winning teams in Florida and St. Thomas USVI early in his career. Today, Tony is a full-time sales professional for Galati and has been with us since 2011.
Living in a beautiful country, he likes to start his day with some form of exercise before heading into the office. He loves the Pura Vida lifestyle, everything from morning hikes and a round of golf with friends and clients to the flat calm seas with some of the best billfishing in the world. “This place is paradise,” says Tony. However, during operational hours, you can catch him at the office or walking the docks talking to clients and their crew. He specializes in sportfishing yachts, especially the Viking product, but has a vast knowledge of other popular brands and custom yachts.
Tony is a very hands-on sales professional. He enjoys helping customers solve issues over the phone and fishing with customers, explaining how certain electronics work, or simply sharing some extra fishing knowledge. When it comes to the customer experience, Tony is second to none. One of his favorite parts of the job is seeing happy customers with their new boats, and he will go above and beyond to ensure he is exceeding customer expectations.
Arturo Moreno and Fernando Peralta Alvarez – Mates on TEAM GALATI
Arturo Moreno and Fernando Peralta Alvarez, mates on TEAM GALATI, have also been with us for quite some time. When it’s not tournament season, they work hard each day to keep our new and pre-owned inventory at the dock in Los Sueños in perfect condition inside and out. Their hard work and attention to detail are of significant importance, and they are always ready to jump in on special projects with a “whatever it takes” attitude.
Arturo is a very well-rounded individual. He can run boats as well as the cockpit. His knowledge and exceptional fishing skills are a huge benefit to TEAM GALATI, whether fishing for fun or competing in the tournament. Fernando works as Second Mate. When it is time to go fishing, he handles a multitude of duties — getting things ready, working in the pit with Arturo, assisting the team and guests — anything anyone needs, Fernando is there.
