May 16th kicked off Emerald Coast Magazines Pop-Up Art Party featuring Galati Yacht Sales at Sandestin’s Baytown Marina. Art took the spotlight as a lead into the Digital Graffiti competition at Alys Beach. The event also benefited the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County. Last but not least, the pop-up art event served as a coming out party for Emerald Coast Magazine annual arts edition.
Beautiful weather and luxurious yachts accompanied guests with an unforgettable art experience aboard spectacular vessels supplied by Galati Yacht Sales. During the art pop-up party, the Shane D’Fury Band serenaded the crowd with island sounds. The docks were lined with luxurious art illuminated vessels. Bijoux de Mer Fine Jewelry in Destin were featured on display aboard the Princess V72. Guests indulged in light bites and appetizers provided by Signature Catering and Chef Christopher Holbrook. Accompanied by delicious sushi provided by Cowboy Roll at Holbrook’s sushi station. With many others that made this event come to life, the night was truly one not to forget.
The vision of holding the art pop-up party at the marina was a dream for Maria Galati-Hill. She imagined art displayed on the white flanks of luxurious vessels. And on this past Thursday, as nightfall crept, Galati Yacht Sales M70 Maritimo became a canvas that illuminated the art of winners of past Digital Graffiti competitions.
“Projecting art on boats, that’s something that had never been done before,” Galati said. “When Galati Yachts established a relationship with Emerald Coast magazine, I started talking to Kenzie Burleigh (Rowland Publishing’s vice president for corporate development) and, over the next year, the event came together.”
Maria Galati-Hill along with her father Joe Galati and the Destin team made the event possible by allowing the use of three spectacular yacht models. Joe Galati explained, “She did a good sales job on me. We started out talking about one boat and wound up with three.” The Maritimo M70 was complemented with a 520 Prestige Flybridge, and V72 Princess Yacht. “We promote the boating lifestyle,” Galati said. “If we provide people with a good experience, one boat tends to lead to another.”
In all, yes… the pop-up art party was a celebration of the arts. But moreover, it was a celebration of the coastal lifestyle in which Galati Yacht Sales was very honored to be a part of.
