Princess Yachts confirmed the new Princess Yachts R35 debut will take place at Cannes and is testing the prototype of the new R35 which will be the first yacht launched in the all-new R-Class.
Kept under wraps during testing, the Princes R35 is scheduled to be introduced at the 2018 Cannes Yachting Festival in September. The R35 is 35 feet, 100% carbon fiber and powered with V8 engines. Capable of speeds of up to 50 knots.
Princess teamed with BAR Technologies and styling house Pininfarina on the R35’s engineering and design. BAR Technologies was formed to exploit the wealth of design knowledge, technical skills, and resources built up through Land Rover BAR’s involvement in the America’s Cup.
The all-new R Class will feature the unique Princess Active Foil System (AFS) and deliver the fastest and most efficient Princess boating experience to date. The striking exterior reflects one of the most compelling and innovative designs Princess has ever created. It conceals a spacious cabin within. Featuring a well-equipped galley and seating area, with the added flexibility to convert to a generous double berth. Further complemented by an ensuite.
In a recent interview, Princess Yacht’s executive chairman Anthony Sheriff states that the R35 is a dramatic departure for Princess. The R35 allows the company to develop new technology that can be proven and then extended into the entire line.
Designs in partnership with world-famous Ben Ainslie Racing Technologies (BAR Technologies) and Pininfarina, the R35 is a powerful expression of intent from a company hitting a rich vein of form. Princess Yachts, renowned for British craftsmanship and engineering pedigree, is experiencing record financial results and order books as the R35 is brought to market. Now is the ideal time to reveal its most technologically advanced and significant sports yacht ever.
