Few brands leave you in awe once you get a glimpse at their process; that leaves you speechless, that calls you to stand firmly beside them. Princess Yachts is one of them.
Galati Yacht Sales had the privilege of spending time with Princess Yachts and Princess Yachts America at their Americas dealer meeting in Plymouth, England where Princess has been building boats for 50 years. The three-day meeting boasted sea trials on several new models, factory tours, and developmental updates from the Princess Yachts leadership. Galati Yacht Sales left the meeting feeling inspired and motivated to bring heightened awareness to the Princess Yachts brand. With nine new models released in the last 12 months, there was much to be seen and heard.
Advanced Yacht Building | Princess Yachts Shipyards
The Princess shipyards are home to 1.1 million square feet of some of the most advanced yacht building in the world. With over 3,000 employees, the facilities sprawl over historical maritime sites with ships being constructed in warehouse structures dating back to the 17th century. Their world-class product line is focused on quality and craftsmanship through high levels of vertical integration, producing each variable in-house, down to the hand-crafted furniture and woodwork. While on factory tours, we were able to experience firsthand the incredible process of building a Princess Yacht. The meticulous and careful precision in design to the thoughtfulness of functionality. There is no stone left unturned and no detail spared.
All-New Princess Yacht Models
We stepped on board both new models and existing models. Two of which left us swooning in excitement for the completion: the V55 and X95. The all-new V55 is intelligently designed for a true open-boating experience while also offering a comfortable and functional main deck. Added galley storage and a flat-screen television that rises and swivels 360 degrees to enjoy from both the salon and aft deck were just a few items on the long list of features worth noting.
The X95 will be a force of her own. Offering a super flybridge and main deck almost the full length of the yacht. She offers both a stunning exterior and an interior with maximized use of space in mind. Options range from an on-deck master suite overlooking the bow to a spacious country kitchen making this a yacht an exceptional ride for long-stretching journeys.
Sea Trial | S78
It was finally time to get out on the water and sea trial several of the new models Princess Yachts is releasing. The new S78, the flagship of the Princess S class, donned a sleek and sporty exterior with an expansive cabin and an equally impressive sport bridge. We reached speeds up to 39 knots and she glided along choppy waters comfortably and with ease.
Sea Trial | R35
Our second and anxiously awaited sea trial was aboard the revolutionary R35 performance sports yacht. Princess Yachts partnered with BAR Technologies to create the state-of-the-art Active Foil System. A system in which safely produces speeds up to 50 knots. In contrast to other foil technologies, the AFS adjusts the heel angle of the boat rather than lifting the hull out of the water. This allows for a smoother and more controlled ride – not to mention exhilarating! We stepped off of the yacht ready for more.
