Princess Yachts Dealer Meeting Recap 2022
Each year yacht dealers from around the globe gather in Plymouth, England, at one of the most renowned shipyards for a three-day assemblage held by Princess Yachts. The Princess Dealer Meeting provides the opportunity to tour and sea trial new models, experience the factory first-hand, and learn about the latest advancements and developments for their luxury motor yacht line.
Day One of the Princess Dealer Meeting
Team Galati, pictured above, was fortunate to attend the meeting and dove right in with a factory tour on day one. With over 1.1 million square feet to trek and 3200+ employees, the Princess factory is truly a site to see. Each Princess yacht is 80% constructed in-house and meticulously handcrafted by skilled shipwrights with a deep resonation with attention to detail.
One of the main highlights of the tour this year was the build process of the all-new F65 Princess, announced earlier this summer. The new model will launch at the 2022 Southampton International Boat Show, September 16-25. Stay tuned for build updates following the flagship of the F-Class Range.
Day Two of the Princess Dealer Meeting
Day two of the Princess Dealers Meeting started with a business gathering in the AM, followed by a model mock-up tour and thrilling sea trials, including sea trials of the Princess X95, Y85 Princess, and V55. Did you know the initial sea trials for a model are completed by the Princess Outside Crew teams who perform over 3,000 checks on each boat? Various people are involved in the process, including engine manufacturers and OEM suppliers and all installations are tested and signed off. Nothing on board a Princess Yacht, even the finer details, remains unchecked.

The model mock-ups are also a truly unique design aspect of Princess, one that no other yacht manufacturer implements. The mock-ups are a 1:1 scale model of the boat’s interior and exterior spaces created out of plywood for every new Princess model before ever going to build. Each mock-up takes approximately 6-8 weeks to create.
This is an invaluable part of the Princess design process and also provides the opportunity for the design team to sit in the spaces, make any necessary design tweaks, check sight lines, experiment with materials, and even optimize the design of component parts for assembly. In addition, they also offer customers a unique opportunity to walk around a life-size model of a yacht before it even goes into build.
To conclude the event, a special Gala dinner, and awards ceremony took place at The Orangery, Mt. Edgcumbe.
