Galati Yacht Sales continues to encourage and maintain aggressive performance goals for our qualified sales professionals. At the start of this month, six additional Galati Yacht sales professionals obtained their certification in the Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB) program.
The CPYB program has been the industry standard for yacht sales professionals. A mark of excellence for yacht brokers throughout North America. A CPYB broker is one who adapts to industry standards of skill, competence, and character in service to their clients. This certification aims to provide boat sellers and buyers with well-versed brokers who they can trust without a doubt.
The benefits that come from working with a CPYB certified broker is the strong knowledge base that they offer. To be certified, these brokers have to successfully pass a three-hour exam. Not to mention, the grueling hours of study time behind it. This exam covers everything from laws and regulations, technical information broker responsibility, and more. This challenging yet rewarding exam is a true testament to yacht brokers’ expertise. Currently, only about 10% of yacht broker association members are CPYB certified across North America. With that said, we are excited to announce Galati Yachts Sales newly certified professional yacht brokers as of June 2020.
Pete Kostuk is a marine industry veteran with over 25 years of boating and sales experience. Whether it is sales or service, Pete’s knowledge of the industry ensures his discerning clients get the attention they deserve to enjoy boating to the fullest. Pete specializes in sportfish yachts, motor yachts, and high-end brokerage sales.
Steve joined the Galati Team as our Tampa Bay Sales Manager in January of 2019 and brings with him over 40 years of Marine Industry experience. His early years were spent in yacht manufacturing and heavy customization of sportfish and motor yachts.
Joseph Galati is part of the 3rd generation Galati family and has grown up working in the business since the age of 12. Spending his summers washing boats, painting bottoms, and captaining boats, Joseph gained a lot of experience and industry knowledge. He graduated from FSU with degrees in both Finance and Professional Sales. Joseph has also since expanded his knowledge and received his captain license and is an instrument-rated pilot.
Frank McCarthy grew up in St. Petersburg, FL, and has been on the water since childhood. Frank has built his career on helping clients benefit from his 43 plus years of experience in yachting around the world. While Frank has spent the majority of his life as a professional racing yachtsman, his specialty for the past 10 years has been helping clients make owning a yacht more affordable.
With over 15 years in the yachting world, Roger has worked in many facets of the industry, including yacht service, yacht management, and as a full time traveling captain. All of this experience makes him one of the most well-rounded sales associates in the business. Whether buying or selling Roger can help you with any and all of your yachting needs.

Growing up in the family business, Jay Dee Jackson, Jr. has been a proud member of Galati Yacht Sales for many years. He is passionate about the yachting world and aside from his brokerage license, he is a Coast Guard licensed captain. He is also certified from the prestigious Dale Carnegie training course and has completed and is a graduate of the Yacht Brokers Institute.
Chris Hirshberg is teamed up with his father as sales and listing partners here at Galati Yacht Sales. His computer skills and knowledge are key ingredients in finding the best boats and deals on the Internet. As part of the Hirshberg Team, Chris specializes in brokerage sales and listings. Including Viking Yachts, Princess Yachts, and Cruisers. Growing up in the marine industry, and being on the water his entire life, Chris possesses the knowledge and drive needed for finding his clients the right boat.
Rickard Charleson has been in the yachting industry since he was 16 years old and has worked on yachts his entire life. He is extremely passionate about what he does and is always there to help and assist his clients. During his years in the Mediterranean and U.S as a delivery captain, he has accumulated a vast knowledge of all brands and their pros and cons. Plus, several years of overseeing the manufacturing of yachts between 68’ – 120’ has given Rickard a keen eye for quality and craftsmanship.
Being raised in the family business Nick Galati understands the dedication it takes to provide unparalleled customer support and offers his clients a well-versed understanding of sales and brokerage with first-hand experiences of a licensed captain, avid boater, and tournament angler. Nick has valuable long-term relationships with manufacturers and is involved in managing the build processes for the company inventory and stock boats. He is also a graduate of the Yacht Broker Institute.
