The YouTube platform has seen over 80 million visits as of November, with over 2.6 billion active users, a considerable increase from 2021. Speaking of growth, the Galati Yacht Sales YouTube channel also showed noteworthy stats of over 3.3 million impressions and clocked 11k+ hours of watch time in 2022. Viking will debut the 90′ Sportfishing Yacht at the upcoming Viking VIP, followed by the Miami International Boat Show. The 90′ Viking sportfish will be replacing the 92 Viking in response to the IMO international mandate in 2023.

First look at Hull No.1 of the 90’ Viking
Heiring the throne of the 92’ Viking, is the brand new 90’ Sportfish. Living up to Viking’s mantra to build a better boat every day, the redesigned Viking 90 is living proof of first-rate engineering, innovation, and design. Spending 18 months on just development alone at their New Gretna plant in New Jersey, this vessel is a long time coming. Especially considering this project began during the Pandemic, when supply chain and labor shortages threatened a majority of U.S. companies.
Viking took what they had learned from the 92 – and other recent new models – and applied that knowledge to the development of the 90. The new flagship will have the latest lifting-strake design, a refined driveline, and prop pockets along with advanced propulsion systems. Performance was also optimized through Computational Fluid Dynamics, software that allows the team to analyze pressure distribution, study trim angle and trim tab effectiveness, and modify strakes and chines to increase running efficiency. The 90 will hold 3,801 gallons of fuel (standard) in four tanks. She’ll certainly feature the latest technology from stem to stern, “but we’re focused on making these systems easier to operate and service,” says Pat.

Evolution of the 90’ Viking Sportfish Yacht
Poised to be the next king of large sportfishing yachts, the evolution of the Viking 90 is a superior example of how Viking overcomes challenges. The Viking 90 has taken all the advantages, refinements and improvements in materials and methods they’ve made in previous models and applied them to their new 90 sportfish. Everything from the use of lighter interior materials to the increased use of carbon fiber and Light Resin Transfer Molding.
Viking would have continued production of the 92 had it not been for an international mandate requiring the installation in the 92 of a heavy, bulky and potentially dangerous exhaust-treatment technology called Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). “We were not going to be forced into installing SCR. With the new 90, we invested $20 million to develop a new flagship sportfishing yacht that does not require SCR. It was a costly decision but one that had to be made because it’s the best product for our owners,” said Viking President and CEO Pat Healey.
The 90 also features a streamlined build process for the enclosed bridge and open bridge, saving on weight and improving building efficiency while lowering the overall profile for a sleek visual appeal. To that end, two large insert dams were created, one that gives the deck of the enclosed bridge a flat walking surface and the other that incorporates crown (needed for drainage) in the open bridge.
