MIAMI BOAT SHOWS: ONE CITY – TWO EVENTS

Miami Boat Show

It’s that time of year again where boat enthusiasts from near and far congregate in South Florida for the Miami boat show events. Whether you’re a boat show veteran or a first-time boat buyer, Miami has the vessel you’ve been seeking.

Key things to know before attending the show:

There are two Miami shows to be explored. One is the 2018 Miami Yacht Show hosted by Show Management on Collins Ave. It is an in-water only display of new and pre-owned vessels. It spans from 41st street to 54th street. This show features the yachting industry’s top yacht builders, from custom builders to world-renowned production builders. Galati Yacht Sales also represents top of the line brands on Collins including Viking, Princess, Maritimo, Cruisers, and Prestige. At the Miami Yacht Show, Galati Yacht Sales brokerage display will be located on Collins Ave near Entrance 2 Display 249-262B.

Transportation:

Transportation is provided by the show with bus shuttles and water taxi services. The bus transportation will run from the Miami Yacht Show on Collins to the Miami International Boat Show at the Miami Marine Stadium. The free water taxi services the Miami Yacht Show only.

The second show is a drive away at the Miami Marine Stadium Park & Basin. It’s referred to the Miami International Boat Show. Each show has a separate ticket to enter. They both take place on February 15th – 19th 2018. Viking, Cruisers and Prestige Yachts will also have a display at this location.

Once you arrive at the show, your possibilities of showings, appointments, and choices are endless. It is best to know what type of boat you are looking for, the key questions you want to ask brokers, and most importantly “who” to buy from. By visiting our show page you can signup for a VIP appointment to the Miami Yacht Show and discuss your needs with a certified broker before the show.

While deciding who to buy from considering these items:

  • Industry Reputation
  • How long as the company been in business?
  • Service for your vessel after purchase
  • You also want knowledgeable sales staff. Look for Sales Professionals that are CPYB (Certified Professional Yacht Broker). The CPYB program has been the industry performance standard for yacht sales professionals throughout North America
  • Does the company offer a one-stop-shop experience? At Galati Yacht Sales, our in-house Business Office can not only provide all the closing documentation but also Finance, Insurance, Extended Warranty, etc.
  • After the sale involvement? For example, does the company offer cruise clubs or rendezvous? Do they participate in tournaments?

Are you a first time Boat Show goer? If so, a few things to keep in mind regarding boat show etiquette and pointers:

  • Remove your shoes before stepping aboard any vessel.
  • Many vessels will have someone on them working the vessel. It is polite to ask if you may “come aboard”
  • Larger vessels require appointments to view. You can make an appointment for vessels by vising our show page.
  • The restrooms (heads) on the vessels are not for use on any boat on display.
  • Bring water and comfortable walking shoes.
  • Shoes with no socks are better as socks are very slippery on boats.
  • Shoes that slide on and off really easily will save you a lot of time when moving from boat to boat.
  • No food or drinks are allowed aboard any vessel.

Galati Yacht Sales display will be located at the Miami Yacht Show on Collins Ave near Entrance 2 Display 249-262B. We recommend visiting our boat show page and signing up to meet with one of our Yacht Brokers. They will be able to assist you with your boat buying questions, discuss what type of vessels may be right for you, and where they are to preview before you arrive.

See you in Miami!
