Maritimo Yachts Announces BIG Plans For 2021 | What to Expect
Coming off a solid 2020, Maritimo Yachts recently released new updates for an exciting year to follow. Ending 2020, Maritimo saw near-record forward orders and a pre-Christmas delivery of over $13 million worth of new boats, shipped to owners across the globe. Not only is the Australian Yacht manufacturer releasing new model world releases, but they are also expecting exciting facility upgrades, workforce expansions, and new model announcements. “2021 will mark a momentous year for Maritimo, with as many as eight new model releases or announcements,” said Brand & Design Director- Tom Barry-Cotter. A new model announcement can be expected as early as March with the unveiling of an entirely new Offshore Motor Yacht Series.
World Release of M55 & World Premiere of S55
One of the first highlights in 2021 will be the world release of the M55 Flybridge motor yacht at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. News of the M55 was released back in the summer of last year. The M55 fuses enhanced designs, technology, and features to create an all-new innovative motor yacht, an exceptional balance of power and play. Altering the international standard for long-range cruising motor yachts, the all-new M55 features: sharpened exterior designs, extensive entertainment areas, and heightened performance. You can also expect the world premiere of the S55 Sedan Motor Yacht at the Sanctuary Cove event. Last fall, news of the S55 broke out of a new redefined sport sedan with powerful exterior form, reimagined entertainment spaces, and functional deck areas. Next-Generation Boat Builders
With new model releases, high demand across the industry, and even more models to come this year, Maritimo began recruiting next-generation boat builders to join their workforce. Maritimo Yachts Operations Director- Phil Candler said, “Maritimo’s apprentices are multiple award winners year after year. Recruits would be mentored by some of the finest and most experienced craftspeople in the industry.”
Facility Updates for Maritimo
Further plans are in the works for upgrades to Maritimo’s Gold Coast facility. “The upgrades will see Maritimo Racing move from its long-time adjacent headquarters into the heart of Maritimo’s facilities. These updates include a ‘Formula One style’ Technology Centre (home stable to Maritimo Racing’s world champion powerboat division, offshore sailing team, and the restored 117-year-old ketch Katwinchar) and connecting Experience Centre,” said Barry-Cotter. “These incredible new facilities will elevate the experience of owning a Maritimo, and give us an amazing future platform for large-scale indoor owner events, staff events, new model releases, and more.”
