The release of the sixth new model of 2021 by Australian luxury yacht manufacturer Maritimo Yachts has just made its reveal to the boating industry. The all-new S60 sedan motor yacht joins the S-Series lineage including, the S51, S55, and S70. The S60 inherits the latest sweeping contours and strikingly balanced exterior form made synonymous with the Maritimo S-Series. Onboard, socializing, and entertaining flow seamlessly inside and outside from the upper cockpit to the salon, on a single level. With much anticipation, the official launch for the S60 sedan motor yacht will be in mid-2022.
Catering to consumer demand, Maritimo’s S60 motor yacht features an expansive cockpit deck and adventure deck space, offering a range of entertaining, relaxation, or adventuring activities. The deck space was an important design consideration from the Maritimo design team as they acted on owner feedback, where time was most enjoyed and spent onboard.
Another essential feature when designing in long-range capability is storage options. Storage for additional supplies, water toys, fishing gear, safety gear, and tenders is pivotal — and the S60 Sedan Motor Yacht caters to these needs with an abundance of storage via the aft garage lazarette. The garage can also house a tender or even select two-person jet skis, with 350kg rear davit.
With a continued focus on maximizing the deck spaces on board, the S60 enables owners to use the often-un-used sedan hardtop, which can be accessed from the upper cockpit deck via overhead hatch, as a utility deck space. This space can store large items, such as kayaks, paddleboards, or life rafts for adventuring enthusiasts.
For entertainment purposes, the upper cockpit is central to the galley, side decks, and adventure deck, highlighting three lounges which include a ‘U’ Shape dining area aft that comfortably dines up to six guests. The aft galley connects the indoor and outdoor spaces creating a seamless transition from the cockpit to the salon. The galley serves both areas and socially connects those preparing the meals with those dining and entertaining.
Concealing all sides of the S60 interior space are enormous sections of glazing, portraying the surrounding seascapes right into your living space. The social hub highlights an expansive lounging zone with comfortable furnishing and a sophisticated forward helm.
Below deck, a three stateroom-two ensuite layout maximizes every inch of the internal hull volume provided by the 17’ beam. A full-beam king master stateroom is located midship. Forward there is an offset queen stateroom with adjoining ensuite, and a generous twin single stateroom awaits guests to starboard, with the option for the inner bed to slide outboard to create a double bed for couples.
Performance-wise the S60 outshines with a new LOA hull design, straight shaft drive technology, low 8-Degree shaft angle, and the option of Volvo Penta or CAT Power units up to 1000MHP or Scania 1150MHP power units.
The S60’s 1200 US GAL fuel capacity and advanced design opens the door to a range of destinations and ease of handling. The vast standard fuel capacity combined with Maritimo’s esteemed economical cruising efficiency will ensure owners can reach secluded locations with minimal stops.
“Every aspect of the design of the new S60, and indeed the other models revealed this year, has been obsessively considered and refined during the design and new product development process to achieve the functional solutions, comfort, and living spaces we set out to achieve.” – Tom Barry-Cotter, Maritimo Design Director.
