Coming back from a three-day weekend of celebration and remembrance for our military, we wanted to highlight an organization that dedicates itself to making a life-changing impact for our military veterans. The Freedom Alliance organization is a leader in combat veteran rehabilitation. Their purpose: to honor and support America’s military and meet the rehabilitation needs of wounded service members, combat veterans, and military families. The offshore experience, orchestrated by the Freedom Alliance, aims to heal the wounds of war by integrating recreational therapy, in the form of offshore fishing, with rehabilitative workshops designed to promote lasting well-being.
This past week, Galati Yacht Sales was honored and delighted to contribute to the offshore experience event. Team Galati provided a day of angling in one of the best sportfishing destinations in the world. Captain Tony Carrizosa and the crew of our trade 66 Viking highlighted the year-round fishery in Costa Rica for five veterans as they spent the day fishing the waters outside of Los Suenos. The veterans endured an eventful day with plenty of sailfish, tuna, and Mahi catches. They even got to experience a fresh catch-of-the-day sashimi meal, prepared by crew member Fernando, before they headed home for the day.
The simple words of appreciation show just how impactful these gestures make for our veterans. One of the soldiers wrote, “thank you for taking us out and getting so many fish. Watching that kite fly and that tuna jump will forever be in my memory”. One of the Marines wrote onboard wrote, “I’m grateful for all your support for our service members! This lifetime experience would not have been possible without your support.”
“The men and women of our armed forces current and past have a special place in my heart and most certainly my respect and admiration. We owe them so much,” stated Carmine Galati Sr. Learn more about the Freedom Alliance organization and how you can help make an impact by visiting the link below.
