High Productivity for Marine Industry in Q2

The NMMA Marine Sentiment Report for Q2 of 2021 shows high productivity and a positive outlook on marine business conditions. The quarterly survey to assess the state and needs of U.S. recreational boat, engine, and marine accessory manufacturing businesses stated that 95% of marine industry CEOs reported conditions were expanding or stable in Q2. They also reported increased sales and orders compared to this time last year and very high capacity utilization.


Key insights include: 

  • 55% of marine industry CEOs expect business conditions to improve substantially or slightly over the next six months.
  • 66% of marine manufacturers reported modest or substantial hiring activity in Q2 2021.
  • On the contrary, significant supply chain disruptions affected 88% of marine businesses, with considerably slower deliveries influencing more than half of all respondents.
