Driven by their mantra to build a better boat every day, the Viking 90 refines the capabilities of the luxury sportfish yacht and has become the new benchmark in the genre. “We’ve taken all the incredible qualities of the 92 – the interior layout, the accommodations, the style, the amenities – and merged them with greater performance, technology, and versatility,” says Viking President and CEO Pat Healey. “The 92 was the Bentley. This is the Ferrari.”

The 90-footer boasts three impressive models: the 90 Viking Convertible, 90 Viking Enclosed Bridge, and 90 Viking Sky Bridge. With six spacious staterooms, including a luxurious full-beam master suite, all models exude elegance and comfort. For those who desire a tuna tower, the Open and Enclosed Bridge models offer the option to install one from Palm Beach Towers. And for a personalized touch, all three models can be equipped with a custom electronics, communications, and entertainment package from Atlantic Marine Electronics.
Dive into the action on the cockpit and dual mezzanine area, which share a sense of attachment. The 90 Viking will highlight a 224 square feet cockpit with 203-gallon transom fishbox/live well, plus a pair of full-length 103-gallon insulated in-deck fishboxes. In addition, the cockpit sole is built with reinforcement for a fighting chair, rocket launcher, or table. A single-powered hatch on the centerline provides easy access to the Seakeeper 35.
As you step out of the salon, the electric-powered single door glides open at the touch of a button, revealing the portside upper mezzanine. Here, you’ll find an inviting L-shaped aft-facing lounge complete with an air-conditioned backrest and a luxurious teak table. On the starboard side, the versatile cooking and refreshment hub can be customized to suit your unique preferences, making your time on board the Viking 90 truly your own.
Gaze out over the cockpit from the spacious lounge area on the lower mezzanine, where a stylish module with storage space below and tackle drawers on either side adds to the aesthetic. This mezzanine also provides access to the engine room and crew quarters via a centerline entrance, and boasts an oversized freezer on the port side and two refrigerated boxes on the starboard side.
With a blend of modern design elements from the 92, 80, and other sportfishing yachts, along with subtle motor yacht influences, the 90 Viking boasts a profile that exudes sophistication. “We designed the 90 to be as sleek as possible, stressing a low profile and clean lines,” says Viking Design Manager David Wilson. “We also brought several refinements to the exterior that enhance that lean, sexy look.” These design elements come together flawlessly, making the Viking 90 a true masterpiece on the water.
Upon entering, the perfect blend of spaciousness, seamless design, and thoughtful details create an inviting and tranquil atmosphere throughout the expansive living area. The warm and elegant natural walnut finishes with horizontal grains in the salon are sure to make a lasting impression.
Both guests and owners will relish in the ample lounge area that starts at the salon entrance and envelops the port side. The entertainment center on the starboard side boasts a 65-inch HD TV that pops up. Moving forward, the large starboard wraparound galley opens up to a raised U-shaped dinette on the port side, complete with rod storage below.
The lower deck offers a luxurious experience with five guest staterooms, each equipped with its own private head and shower. In addition, there is a crew quarters that provides immediate access to the engine room, a pantry that includes an extra crew berth, and a day head. The owner’s suite is an absolute delight, spanning across the 23-foot, 2-inch beam with a king walk-around bed, a walk-in closet, a dressing table, a lounge area, and his-and-hers private facilities with separate access.
Why did Viking build the 90 sportfish? — According to Pat Healey, their design process started years ago with a focus on the future. They knew that international regulations would soon require Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) in the engine rooms of yachts with a load line length of more than 24 meters. However, the team discovered that there was no suitable engine or SCR technology available for this market. While the US Coast Guard temporarily suspended the regulations, Viking continued to develop their 90 model, which doesn’t require SCR. After months of diligent effort, the Viking sportfishing fleet joyfully revealed their latest and greatest flagship vessel.
