The 80 Donzi is designed and constructed under one condition, to be a brute power package loaded with luxury features for the long-range angler. Unlike many other sportfish vessels, the 80 Donzi manifests extreme relaxation, zoning out much of the overwhelming rumbling of engines and whistling of turbochargers. She is built with side blankets in the salon and isolation mounts on the salon support posts to keep vibration and noise levels down while cruising the open seas. When the angling begins, the well-equipped cockpit is ready for action. The cockpit provides plenty of space with 144 square feet that include many fishability features, including a complete bait center, fighting/reel station, tackle drawers, fish box, sink and freezer, and much more. The power force behind the 80 Donzi excels at 40 knots with a cruising speed of 31 knots.
Heading inside, the 80 Donzi exemplifies superyacht luxury, with qualities such as gloss-finished sliced teak cabinetry and padded bar stools that accompany the open galley. On one side of the salon is comfortable living/entertaining accommodations, perfect for an evening spent with family or an after-tournament celebration. Following is the galley and dinette area, arranged attractively for six people to indulge in mealtime preparations.
Below deck, accommodations include four staterooms and four heads. The master stateroom features a queen berth accompanied by a private head, fine wood closets, vanity, and flat-screen TV. Forward, the VIP stateroom displays a centerline queen with a private en-suite and plenty of storage. Making good use of space, the 80 Donzi showcases a twin guest room in a narrow but quaint living quarter, with easy access to the day head. Down one level are the two-berth crew quarters, laundry area, sound-insulated auxiliary machine room, and engine room entry. Overall, the 80 Donzi Yacht provides upscale cruising qualities you are bound to enjoy while cruising around the world or fishing in a top angling tournament.
Pictured to the right is a group of well-respected marine industry experts who share one thing in common. They have all owned an 80 Donzi Yacht. Bill Royster (third to the left), owner of the world-renowned Los Suenos Resort and Marina in Costa Rica, still owns his 80 Donzi Yacht, NUMERO UNO. He purchased his 80 Donzi Yacht back in 2015 from Galati Yacht Sales. He has traveled all over from the Florida Keys and Cancun to Costa Rica, where NUMERO UNO currently resides at the Los Suenos Marina. NUMERO UNO has also had its fair share of top-level tournaments including, one of the most competitive tournament series worldwide — the Los Suenos Signature Triple Crown.
Bill Royster took to Marlin Magazine talking about his 80 Donzi. “I personally thought I would never own an enclosed flybridge boat. As I’ve gotten older though, I like not having the wind in my face! The Donzi has been a highlight for my whole family. They all used to fish on the Cabo with me for years, and they were hoping I was going to buy a larger boat. We have rebuilt the Donzi from the ground up. We just finished rebuilding the engines, installing new generators, and we also added three Seakeeper 9s. So when we are at the seamounts on the overnight trips, it’s like being in the marina. It’s one of the most comfortable boats I’ve ever owned.”
