Two legs down and one to go. The Los Suenos Triple Crown wrapped up Leg II of the Signature series this past Saturday, with 38 teams fishing for that number one spot. During Leg II, Team Galati was doing exceptionally well aboard the Viking 58 Convertible. At 58 feet, this Viking is manageable enough for an owner/operator yet provides the space for all of the features expected from a modern sportfisher. Learn more about the exceptional 58 Viking here.
Day one was quite the nail-biter for Team Galati as they were bumped from first place in the final minutes. Day two was a new day with 14 Marlin releases and 313 sails total. This year Team Galati is angling alongside Team Valhalla, the next generation of fishermen. Team Valhalla originally featured the Valhalla 41 center console with anglers Nick Galati, Sean Healey of Viking Yachts, and Josh Shields, grandson to Bill Royster (President & CEO of Los Suenos Resort & Marina). After the 41 Valhalla sold mid-series, the anglers fished a 66 Viking for LEG II. They also welcomed an additional angler to the team, Justin Healey of Viking Yachts. The group, which kept the Valhalla name, will compete in the LEG III tournament aboard the 66 Viking as well. Pictured to the left are Carmine Galati Sr. (right) and son Nick Galati (left), tournament competitors but still father and son. Keep an eye on Team Galati and Valhalla as they continue to compete throughout Leg III of the series! Watch the angler’s profile of Team Valhalla below.
