Mainship Trawlers, one of the most well-known American-made trawler boat brands, started in 1978 as a spin-off of the 34 Silverton Mainship, a company founded by John and Warren Luhrs. Luhrs Corporation was the parent company of Mainship, which specialized in trawlers and Downeast designs from 30-43 feet.
