Starting out as a hobby for two men in a garage led Charles and George to create Carver Yachts. One never knows where an idea and a love for boats can take them until embarking on a journey. This passion and their skills took Carver to new heights, and up until 2021, Carver continued to be a leader in the industry by creating highly functional, spacious, and dependable luxury cruising motor yachts.
Carver Yachts History
In the last several decades, the company has seen several developments and continued to look for new and better ideas to incorporate into the company to make the best yachts, including embracing change and new ideas. As the times changed, Carver Boats adapted along with it.
The ability to acclimatize and change over time helped Carver compete and remain on top within the yachting industry for decades. Although the friends started out building mahogany-planked boats in the early years, in the 70s, they evolved to using a stronger more durable fiberglass to create their yachts.
High-Quality Carver Yachts
Construction makes a difference when building quality yachts, and Carver continued to seek out and use cutting-edge technology and combine it with handcrafted skills to exceed customer expectations. Every part of the build and production was completed in-house to ensure each vessel met the highest quality control standards for the industry.
Customizations were also a huge part of the Carver yacht experience, as the buyer could build their boats to meet their needs. From propulsion choices to interior wood finishes and hull side colors, the options were there for customers to add their touch to the vessel and make it their own.
Carver Boats Offer Advanced Technology
Carver yachts also offered greater fuel economy with a lighter boat by using vacuum-infused resin technology. This technology is state-of-the-art and eliminates voids and excess fiberglass, which means a lighter, stronger boat. Each vessel was also equipped with the latest electronics, propulsion, and comfort systems to offer the best cruising experience.
Popular Carver Yachts
In more recent years, Carver Yachts offered vessels from 34’ to 52’. The models included the Carver Command Bridge and Coupe models, which set new standards for performance and design. This company set out to redefine and set the standard as to what a cruising yacht should be in the past and the future.
The end of an era
Carver and sister company,
Marquis Yachts, closed their doors in 2021, an end to an era of one of the most recognizable and well-liked motor yacht brands. As for the renowned Carver facility,
Cruisers Yachts quickly acquired the
Pulaski, WI plant in 2021.
