Albin Marine was established in 1899 in Sweden as a marine diesel engine and boat manufacturer. The first powerboat was introduced in 1969, but the 80s saw Albin focus and specialize in the trawler market. In the 1980s, Albin, then headquartered in Portsmouth, RI introduced a line of downeast style yachts along with fishing boats.
