The 6th annual MONGO Offshore Challenge returns May 1 – September 30, 2025. The MONGO Offshore fishing tournament is a quest to see who will catch the largest game fish of the season.
About the MONGO Fishing Tournament
Categories include Blue Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna, Wahoo, and Mahi. This format allows teams to choose which species they want to compete in with the ability to fish as often as they choose. The teams utilize the network of official MONGO weigh stations located throughout each region. Registered teams can also take their official weights from other approved big game tournaments throughout the season. The MONGO division boundaries will include a Gulf Coast Division and East Coast division this year.
MONGO Offshore Winnings
Each species category is winner take all, along with winner take all optional pots. The MONGO format levels the playing field and invites boats of all sizes to compete. The format encourages catch and release by having very high minimum size limits. Their motto is “let the small ones go so they can grow”. They want to celebrate the huMONGOus fish caught during the season, and showcase and reward the teams that catch them.
